Is 21st century britain a dystopian society?

Not quite – the Government is very controlling, but not to the point of being a totalitarian regime. Politicians are still very much ‘servants of the people’, as we have seen in recent months. Although attention is drawn to the Government’s attempts to infringe on our civil liberties, the British people are still very free to live as they wish. There are some aspects of social control, like Health & Safety and Political Correctness, that some people say go too far, but we are a long way from being dystopian. The fact that we Brits complain about the slightest change to our living standards just shows how good we really have it.
