Is 2012 doomsday actually going to happen?
If anyone think its going to end because the Mayans said so then you have nothing to worry about. The Mayans did not actually predict or say in any way that the world would end on 21st December 2012. Their calender does end on that date but then it starts again. This calender is a long count calender and it obviously had to end sometime. It does start again the next day though. Think of it as a bit like our calender. It ends every year on the 31st December and then we start a new one. Its just like that with the Mayans only their calender lasted thousands of years instead of a year. As for the other theories going round, it is meant to be the end of the world as we know it, not the actual end if anything happens. There is also meant to be galactic alignment in the Winter Solstice but if this did happen, it won’t do us any harm according to astronomers and scientists.
