Is 2000 Census data acceptable if it is the latest available source data for the Need Section?
You should use the most recent data available to convince the reader of the need for the McNair Program at your institution. If you decide to use the 2000 Census data, you may wish to supplement that information with more recent data from institutional or other appropriate data sources. It will be left to the reader’s discretion as to whether the data presented in the application achieved its intended purpose.
