Codeine is rated just above aspirin. Hydrocodone (Vicodin) is a stronger narcotic pain reliever, and is more addictive. Right above hydrocodone is oxycodone (Percocet), which is a bit more addictive. All of the above cause constipation, the worst is probably codeine.
