And which other country do you think would WANT our criminals? Most countries won’t even let you VISIT if you’ve been convicted of a serious crime, let alone move there. Heck, Canada won’t even let you go there for a vacation if you have a DUI. There are hundreds of convicted foreign felons in US prisons who have served their sentences and are being held indefinitely because the law says they must be deported back to their home countries – but their home country won’t let them back in. There’s one guy in my county jail who came here as a refugee from Vietnam when he was a baby. When he was 16 he got a felony conviction for selling pot to a schoolmate. He was sentenced to a year and served it. He’s been locked up in county for 12 years now, because as a convicted felon he must be deported, but Vietnam won’t let him in, so he’ll just stay in County jail at Federal taxpayer expense for the rest of his life.
