Install SilverCreek on Redhat 8, 9 and Fedora Core failed due to missing uncompress command?

On Redhat/Fedora Core Linux system, the installation will fail if your system has no “uncompress” utility installed (as you saw from the error message). You need to install ncompress RPM (e.g., ncompress-4.2.4-34.i386.rpm) if you haven’t. In SC8.0beta and later releases we have changed not to use “uncompress” but use “zcat” found on every Unix like system.
