Ingres Version: All OS: VMS Q: OS threading is not supported on Alpha VMS, so is it necessary to configure a DBMS server for each CPU ?

On VMS it is not necessary to set a logical to advise Ingres of the number of CPU’s (usually you would set II_NUM_OF_PROCESSORS to the number available). On VMS Ingres is able to detect what is available and utilize it. You do not need to start additional DBMS servers for this either. However, it is recommended to set II_NUM_OF_PROCESSORS anyway as this can help Ingres when diagnosing problems.
