The log splits are the number of times a log record write spans multiple log buffers. You can use this information to determine if your log buffers are sized appropriately. For example, if the “block_size” is 4K and many splits occur, you can reconfigure with larger buffers, perhaps a “block_ size” of 8K, to reduce the number of log splits.
