The log forces are the number of requests made to the logging system to force the current log buffers to the log file. Any of the following actions may result in this: a. During a CP (Consistency Point) b. The buffer manager forces the last log buffer in the logging system to disk. This normally occurs during the close of a table. c. The “dmfrcp” or DBMS server forces the last log record of a transaction to disk before recovering the transaction.
