In which countries is hijab (scarf) compulsory for women. What the Koran says about hijab?
1) All countries (or regions) where Shariah law is implemented. Currently, Saudi Arabia and Iran are the most glaring, also in the Northern states of Nigeria and Sudan, Shariah is implemented which forces women to wear hijab by law. So, to the best of my knowledge, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, northern Nigerian and Sudanese states, 2) In most Muslim countries (especially in the Gulf Arab states), there is a huge amount of societal pressure on women to wear scarfs. So, ALL Muslim states, with the notable exception of Turkey and Tunisia (the only two Muslim-majority states where there is societal pressure AGAINST the Hijab). 3) That is what most Muslims claim.
