The NGSCB architecture encompasses a much broader set of functionality than TCG, but both efforts are designed to enable a more secure and trustworthy computing platform. TCG has defined a set of functional specifications for a component known as the trusted platform module (TPM). The upcoming TPM version 1.2 is expected to work as the security support component (SSC) in NGSCB to provide certain cryptographic and data storage services.
