A. IIT Gandhinagar is being mentored by IIT Bombay. Each of the new IITs that are being established is to be mentored by an existing IIT. Initially, IIT Bombay will be responsible for developing high quality academic programmes of international standard. IIT Gandhinagar will follow the grading pattern and other rules (e.g. branch change rule) currently prevalent at IIT Bombay.
