In what TV shows did pterosaurs appear in?
The earliest TV show I’m most familiar with that did feature pterosaurs is the 1970’s Land of the Lost. From what I recall, a flock of shrieking rhamphorhynchoids would sometimes be seen winging their way through the air (though they didn’t seem to flap their wings). I don’t recall an episode where they showed any close-up’s of the pterosaurs. Rumors go that there will be a new series, so perhaps they will again grace the small screen. I don’t know if the old series is in syndication, but hopefully it will be available as a DVD collection in the future. Presently, pterosaurs make appearances in the syndicated Australian-Canadian TV show Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World, a weekly series adapted from the classic story. They are conspicuous in the trailer. It is now running in syndication.
