In what states are the five largest categories of quasi-judicial officers found?
Five kinds of quasi-judicial officers account for approximately 98 percent of all of the positions. They include associate judges, commissioners, magistrates, mayors, and justices of the peace. They are found in 1 or more of 29 different states (see Table 3). The five most frequent positions are found in the following groups of states.
