jPDFProcess saves PDF files in PDF 1.5 format to make sure that the documents created can be displayed in any viewer compatible with 1.5 or above. But jPDFProcess can read all PDF files up to PDF 1.7, the latest version of Acrobat PDF file format. Yes, it is possible with jPDFProcess, although it might be overkill as jPDFProcess can also create and modify PDF files. You might want to look at another one of our products, jPDFPrint, that handles printing only.
