Caissons first, that is pretty typical. The caisson shafts will be filled to about 70′ below grade where the garage will bottm out, then the caisson ‘tops’ will be removed allowing the loose top soils to coverup and fill the remainder of the shafts. After drilling, the site will be excavated and the poured in place caisson structue will surface at the bottom of the excavation pit.
