In what circumstances can assets be re-financed?
As with property the majority of tangible assets such as machinery, vehicles and plant and equipment have a second hand market value. This value can be used as security for a lender to advance monies. This type of finance is aimed at utilising the value in equipment that is unencumbered by any existing finance. However, if the amount of finance outstanding on a machine is small in comparison to it’s overall value then encumbered equipment can also be considered.
