In truth, I do not know what this present pope has said on the matter. However, for many years it has been the interpretation of the RCC about the early Christians Creeds, which declare that all must belong to “the church” to be saved, that it is speaking of their denomination alone.

In truth, I do not know what this present pope has said on the matter. However, for many years it has been the interpretation of the RCC about the early Christians Creeds, which declare that all must belong to “the church” to be saved, that it is speaking of their denomination alone. The Eastern Church, known as the “Orthodox” Church believes the same of themselves as do a number of Protestant Christian denominations. However, the Bible teaches us that the one church over which Christ alone rules is made up of ALL THOSE AND ONLY THOSE WHO TRUST IN CHRIST’S VICARIOUS ATONEMENT FOR THEIR SINS. Belonging to an organization created by man does not assure anyone of salvation. Salvation is owned by those who put their complete trust in Jesus’ death and resurrection on our behalf.
