In todays charged sphere example problem, why was the potential on the surface of the charged sphere zero?
It wasn’t zero on the surface of charged sphere. It was , which we got from plugging in to the answer from part a. Of course, you could define potential to be zero at the surface if you wanted, but we had already defined potential to be zero at infinity. You can’t change your zero point in the middle of the problem!
