In The Ways of Saints by Kirpal Singh, in the beginning I saw something I didnt quite understand. Were there no living Masters before Kabir in the 15th century, or is that just when Sant Mat, under the form Sant Mat, started?
Thakar Singh: Sant Mat is not something new. My Master also explained that the Path has been same always. But the people had forgotten it. The Masters have always been coming to make it available to the people. But the people began to feel that this Master has started it, or that Master has started it, because the previous teachings of the previous Masters they had forgotten. If they had known, then they would not have said that. Otherwise, there was a chain, and it is continuing. It was before Kabir and is after Kabir.
