In the US, is business networking different when networking with ethnic populations from the east?

In your opinion, in the US, is business networking with ethnic populations from the east (Asian Indian, Arab American, Asians, etc.) different or the same as networking with the non-ethnics? Is it segregated by gender and age or not? I’m interested in hearing your thoughts because I’m hearing a lot of different opinions on networking but nothing about networking with the growing ethnic populations from the east (in the US I mean). I’m compiling some data for use in a future book. (FYI, I launched the Michigan India Chamber of Commerce about 7 months ago and it has been a very rewarding experience. Asian Indians come because they are curious but they are filled with cynicism and skepticism because they tell me that their past experiences have been very poor. Non Asian Indians come with a much more relaxed attitude.
