The new structure does have fewer positions for upper-level officers and NCOs, but regardless of the slots available, it is the philosophy of the command to maintain a pool of qualified individuals in the event that assigned individuals should retire, deploy, PCS, etc. There are also many options for Reserve Soldiers of these ranks outside of the 7th CSC throughout Europe. While the Command would prefer to retain these Soldiers, if that is not possible the 7th CSC will work with each Soldier to ensure they have a position that is suitable for them.
