In the Malaysian audit papers for December 2009 will the questions feature AIs or ISAs?

0

The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) released the Malaysian Approved Standards on Auditing Handbook in March 2009, which showed that ISAs had been adopted by Malaysia and the acronym AI was no longer being used. There appears to be confusion surrounding the actual date when AI was dropped in Malaysia and the teaching for the December 2009 paper has been a mixture of both the use of AIs and ISAs. ACCA will use AIs in the December 2009 exam in accordance with the examinable documents published on ACCA’s website. The examinable documents have been based on the information available from MIA as at 30 September 2008 (ACCA examinable documents cut off date). Candidates will be credited in their answers for reference to either AIs or ISAs.
