In the long term, how will the Archdiocese of Miami continue to support the Catholic Church in Haiti?
The Archdiocese of Miami will work with the Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince to plan and implement an archdiocesan multi-purpose center to be used as a secure housing facility for our mission teams, as well as to serve as a storage location and medical facility. This center will be a gift from the Archdiocese of Miami to the Church of Haiti. The center will function as the main staging and storage facility where all Archdiocese of Miami missions will coordinate their efforts and from which mobile medical missions and feeding programs will be dispersed. The center will serve the area affected by the earthquake and other areas in Haiti were refugees have moved to, other dioceses. The center will be named by the bishop of Port-au-Prince.
