Hopefully, all the hair removed from the donor site and transplanted will regrow! I assume the question is: Does the donor hair regenerate itself? No, it generally doesn’t. There is evidence that partially removed hairs can regrow from both the top and bottom halves of the hair follicle, but it is a very hit and miss affair and not a basis for “hair multiplication” at the moment. Essentially, one hair moved from the donor area becomes one hair in the recipient area ( and one hair less in the donor area).
