The owner or occupier shall ensure that as provided in the Factories (Hoists and Lifts) Regulations 1964 (as amended):· The lift shall be of good mechanical construction, of sound material and adequate strength and properly maintained, · It should be thoroughly examined by a competent person at least once in every period of six (6) months. In the case of continuous lift or of a lift not connected to mechanical power, this has to be examined at least once in every period of every period of twelve (12) months, · A copy of the report must be sent to the Chief Executive Officer of the Occupational Health and Safety Authority within 28 days of completion of the examination, · All repairs, renewals or alterations listed by the examining competent person shall be affected within the timeframe stipulated in the report issued by examined person.
