In searching for classes in iSIS, how can I tell the difference between online distance education and on-campus classes?
The Class Search feature has several different search criteria available. Distance Education or DCE classes can most easily be found by making a note of your Class Number on the DCE website, www.dce.k-state.edu/courses/ and then searching by Class Number in iSIS. Or, in iSIS, clicking on “Additional Search Criteria”, looking for a Location of “Manhattan Continuing Education” (or “Salina Continuing Education”, if appropriate), and choosing a Mode of Instruction, if desired (WWW, Telenet2, Video, etc.) will also narrow your search to distance education classes. From the list of classes shown, those that show “Distance Education” in the “Room” field will be online classes. If a location has a room # and building, it is NOT an online class. DCE online classes will also have a Section Number that begins with “Z” (or “S” for Salina Continuing Education).
