Hi Chuck, Gordon Prange did a beautiful job with his text TORA, TORA, TORA (published in Japan in 1966). However, in 1967 the Japanese government printed SENSHI SOSHO: HAWAI SAKUSEN based on documents hidden by Japan from the Occupation troops. Prange began to change his TORA manuscript for US publication using that volume. With his interest in “cause” and “effect”, those sections were changed by his death. The “battle” section never got changed and the book came out as AT DAWN WE SLEPT.
