Unlike, the operating funds which are capped at 15% of the total request, there is no limitation on the capital and endowment funds that can be requested below the $50 million maximum total request. A good mix is a reasonable balance. The capital request should be consistent with the number of hires to be supported and nature and resources of the research cluster proposed.
