Yes, it does! However, check whether the option is set to “Notify” on each read receipt, this is necessary since requesting a read receipt is a well known trick used by spammers to validate an eMail address! To do so, go to: “Tools” >>> “Options”; now select the Receipts tab at the top of the dialog screen, and select the radio buttion in front of “Notify me for each read receipt request”.
