All companies have to follow the almost exact same standards. If a company changed the wood content of the paper its a bit more confusing because they need to make sure the final product follows the FSC rules so it can be claimed as FSC certified through the threshold or credit system. All other companies that dont change the wood content (merchants/printers) need to have a tracking system in place to ensure they know where their FSC certified products are at all times and that their FSC certified products dont get mixed up with non-FSC certified products. Most of the time this is done with a job ticket/job number that stays with the FSC certified paper from ordering through shipping and sales in the printing world. Transportation companies do not need to be FSC certified since they dont own the material. The mill/merchant/printer has a process in place to ensure all invoices and shipping docs are labeled correctly so there is no confusion while the product is being shipped.
