In regards to religious violence, is religion the problem?
Some say, “yes” while some say, “No” and both can be correct. Explain Is religion the problem? Those who say, “yes” use history to argue that religions such as Christianity has a violent past. When Christians took up the sword to convert or preserve their religion millions died in the name of God. Some argue it by saying that science has proven so many religious ideals wrong and that makes religion take a defensive and oftentimes violent stance in order to preserve their traditions. Those who say “no” argue that not religion, but people are the problem. Religion is created by people. No religion exists in a vacuum. The need for hope, spirituality and answers to unanswerable questions create religions and from those religions come traditions and then they are shaped further by changing political and social climates. Oftentimes the followers of a religion get caught up in following their leaders, doctrines and defending their traditions that the core teachings of the religion are lost. A
