In our voice-mail, what is the difference between standard greeting and alternate greeting?
A standard greeting is the message that the caller will hear when you are unable to answer your phone because you are busy or not at your desk. You can record your own greeting if you like, or the system has one already recorded for you. An alternate greeting is if you are not going to be in your office for a certain amount of time. For instance if you are going to take the day off or go on vacation for a few days or maybe even if you are going to be on a business trip. You should always use an alternate greeting when you plan on being out for the day. This will let the caller know when to expect you to be back at work. Remember: Standard greeting is for when you are at work. An alternate greeting is for when you are not at work.
