Georgia Firearms License Today I went and applied for my Georgia Firearms License during my lunch break. The GFL isn’t a purchase license like a few states require. The GFL is a concealed carry permit. Actually, with Georgia law it’s just a carry permit since the law allows both open and concealed carry with the GFL. The whole process took about 30 minutes. I went down to the Clarke County Probate Court here downtown and filled out an application paper and paid the clerk the $17 application fee. Then I took the provided fingerprint cards downstairs to the sheriff’s office and paid the $36 fingerprint fee to get two copies of my fingerprints made. Being fingerprinted was a very odd experience. It’s something I can thankfully say I hadn’t experienced before then. The fingerprint room was interesting. There were two rows of chairs in the room that all had ankle cuffs attached to the legs. Luckily the lady taking my fingerprints was very friendly and nice. I know one fingerprint card goes
