Also, if using XP with Service Pack 2, make sure Windows Firewall is properly configured to allow access; see our XP-SP2 page. Finally, under My Computer, Tools, Folder Options, make sure you do not have “Use simple file sharing” checked. Enabling this will prevent all DCOM access.
