Answer Nuclear power will not run out for many, many years, especially if you breeder reactors which create one kind of fuel (plutonium) as you burn up another (uranium). I don’t know how many nuclear power stations there are in Britain. There are about 120 in the US. One main advantage of nuclear power plants is the fact that they don’t put out carbon dioxide which is a product of combustion of coal, oil, or gas. The main dis-advantage is that you do have to dispose of the radioactive waste which is dangerous for hundreds of years. France gets about 80% of their electricity from nuclear power so obviously that’s a lot more than any combustion plant there. The US gets about 30% of their electricity from nuclear power since we have a lot of coal which France doesn’t have.
