Ans: In making a choice and that too a right one, what is required is a mind which is relatively pure, serene and capable of a discriminative judgment. If one already possesses such a mind one can easily judge every situation in life. If not the judgment poses a conflict every time for want of clarity of vision. If the mind is disturbed, judgment and interpretation of the data will be confused. Then one acts in accordance with the intellect’s judgment. Later one realizes that it was a mistake. Had the mind been quieter one would not have made the mistake. Another essential requisite to make the right choice with regard to a course of action is to live up to those values which a person knows are the right ones. If not one’s plight becomes like that of Duryodhana who said, “I know what is right but I have no inclination to do it.
