In cases where GroFin does take a shareholding, is the group involved in the day-to-day operations of that business?

As a financier, GroFin always takes a non-executive role as a shareholder. In other words, even as a shareholder, GroFin is not involved in the day-to-day running of the businesses which it supports financially. When a shareholding or equity component forms part of a finance package, its purpose is to compensate GroFin for the risk inherent in the deal, not to give it decision-making powers in the running of the business. GroFins role is rather to provide appropriate financing, advice and guidance in order to improve the chances of success for all shareholders over the investment period.
