It shouldn’t cost you $3,000 in attourney fees if there is already an order of support in the works. You may have to pay court costs which are usually $200 to $400…Hell it didn’t even cost me $3,000 when I filed for divorce from California to New York…As for the leagal aid lawyer, all he could use in court was what YOU gave him to work with. If you didn’t call the police when you were being physically abuse there is no “proof” other than YOUR hearsay…that doesn’t hold up in ANY Court period…that isn’t the fault of the leagl aid lawyer that is YOUR fault for not calling the police. If you have an allegation you want brought up in court you HAVE to have proof, you didn’t…YOU blew it.
