In Autumns Pumpkin-Flavored Goodies, Wheres the Actual Pumpkin?
Ah, fall is upon us. The leaves are changing to brilliant hues of red, bronze and yellow. There’s a nip in the air that makes wearing scarves, boots and sweaters especially cozy. And soon we’ll turn back our clocks, but not before each of us has likely enjoyed something that’s pumpkin flavored in honor of autumn. The cool weather often makes us crave the comfort of warmth. So as the weather gets colder, a hot mug of coffee, tea or hot chocolate on a chilly day warms us up, as does a hearty bowl of stew or a piece of homemade pumpkin pie. This emotional connection to what we eat and drink seems to have inspired America’s most famous coffee chains to promote their fall lineups that are particularly focused on everything pumpkin.
