If the closing of your home purchase is handled by a settlement company, your settlement officer will gather all of the necessary documents for your settlement, including the purchase contract, mortgage information, homeowners insurance, physical survey, and required inspections, assuring that all requirements of the mortgage company are met with compliance. The settlement company also handles recordation of the legal documents at the court house, and disbursing of all of the funds in the settlement.
