In addition to coursework, what do I have to do to complete the K-12 Library Information Specialist Certification Program at GSLIS?
After completion of the required LIS and Education coursework including a 100-hour practicum, candidates register for a semester of student teaching. This includes two placements: one in an elementary and one in a secondary library media center under the supervision of certified librarians. Also required is a CoTE Common Assessment electronic portfolio and a passing score on two standardized tests.
