Energy independence: Congress must pass comprehensive legislation that encourages innovation in energy production while allowing all Americans to benefit from our wealth of domestic energy resources. Business climate: Congress must stimulate free enterprise with low taxes and responsible regulation, key ingredients in a strong economy. Congress must act to protect consumers and small businesses facing the highest tax increase in history if the tax cuts of 2001/2003 are not made permanent.
