In a cardiovascular disease residency, can PTCA services be located at a participating training site?
A. A PTCA service must be available at the primary training site. The primary training site is the health-care facility that provides the required services, is the location of the program directors major activity, is the location where the resident spends the majority of clinical time, and is ordinarily the primary location of the core program in internal medicine. Noncompliance with the requirement will result in withholding or withdrawal of accreditation.
