Symtpom: After rebooting an ESX server the MTU settings revert to default (1500) for VMNICs (pNICs) attached to the Cisco Nexus 1000V resutlting in loss of traffic and connectivity. This can cause an issue for network based storage that is used for datastores and use jumbo MTU. Solution: Verify MTU settings on ESX with esxcfg-nics -l command. Check for MTU settings for the corresponding pNIC. For system uplink ports, set the “system mtu” command in the system port-profile applied to the port. This ensures that MTU is preserved for uplink interfaces with system VLANS. For non-system uplinks the VSM sets the correct MTU based on the interface configuration. #Q:How do I get vCenter to display the right VSM version after upgrade? A: That data loaded into vCenter under the summary tab only displays the information which was defined for the VSM VM as part of the .ovf template and does not depend on the version of the VSM running inside the VM. It is just like the labels we put on the servers
