I’m unsure of what size mailbox my users might need, how do I work this out and manage their email growth over time?
To check the current mailbox size in the Outlook Client software on each users PC: Personal Folder In the Folder List, right-click Personal Folders, and then click “Properties for ‘Personal Folders,'”. On the General tab, click Folder Size. Outlook begins calculating the size of each folder. When the calculation is complete, the total size in kilobytes of all folders and subfolders is displayed, along with a list of each individual folder and subfolder and the size of each. The total size in kilobytes is the size of the mailbox. On the Exchange Server In the Folder List, right-click “Outlook Today – [Mailbox – Your Name]” and then click “Properties for ‘Mailbox – Your Name.'”. On the General tab, click Folder Size. Storage incurs a cost and it is a best practice approach to encourage email users to regularly “purge” or archive their email. As a value added service Gen-i can provide archiving to Managed Mail customers on request. Pricing can be provided on request.
