Im trying to find some good mountain biking trails in the Des Moines area. Are there enough to invest in a solid $500 mountain bike?
Oh yes [reader]… there is plenty of singe-track in the DM area… There are 14+ miles of well-groomed mtn bike trails near the old science center in Greenwood Park (called Center trails). There are 7+ miles of Sycamore trails. there is Banner Pits at Summerset State Park, Peterson Pits in Ames. Organzied group rides ride the Center Trails (weather permitting) Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
