Im thinking of having a Flash introduction to my web site. Do you think this is a good idea?
On balance, we would normally advise against this. The first or home page of your web site is the most important, not only from the point of view of your visitors but also for search engine spiders. These are likely to find your Flash page incomprehensible with a consequent adverse effect on your search engine rankings. Flash pages can also be extremely irritating, delaying visitors in their attempts to get at the real content of your site.
