Im thinking about purchasing and learning bass guitar. What are some good bass guitars and learning reads for beginners?
It was a fair bass guitar. It’s downside: my neighbor plays upright bass in the local symphony orchestra and works on musical instruments in his spare time, and he identified the bridge as being too high. That’s why I was getting a cramped hand on fretting strings. (He lowered it for me, which was easier to play, but then I got lumbar arthritis and that ended it all.) I did a lot of things while learning that. The Fender kit did also include a small book that started very basic and worked up to some respectable bass riffs. I also went thru Mel Bay’s The Electric Bass by Roger Filiberto, tho I got that book some decades ago and it might not be available. It, also, went thru the successive strings one by one, starting at the basics, and worked up to some actual tunes (“On Top of Old Smokey” on the bass . . . why not?) as well as more good bass riffs.
