Im thinking about getting a long haired chihuahua?
The difference betweeng the short-coated and the long-haired chi is, as obvious, the coat. The long-coated Chihuahua has a soft coat that’s flat or slightly curly. On the body it’s almost as smooth as that of a smooth-coated Chihuahua, but the ears have a fringe of hair, and the plumed tail spreads out like a fan over the back. He also has a ruff on the neck and longer hair called feathering on his feet. The hind legs are also covered with long hair that resembles pants–and that’s what it’s called. On the stomach is longer hair known as a frill. Here’s a link that can give you more information on the smallest breed of dog. http://lnk.nu/dogtime.com/rxk.

hi, i have 9 chihuahuas 8 of which are long coated. your question is simple is up to you, it is your personal preference on weather you have a female chi or male, they are the same breed act the same, you wont get any personally difference. The only thing which is different is the obviouse. And again with colour, makes no difference. I would go and visit a breeder who has pups and go with the one you like the most, regardless of colour and sex. Some good breeders are a bit funny if you want a particular colour, because if you want a chihuahua then it should not make any difference on there colour. You have mentioned you have a dog, but not the sex and if he or she has been done, this could effect your choice if he is a boy then if you get a female chi you must have her done even if he has been done, the reason here is when she comes into season he will still try to mate her and they will then tie. Again if you get to dogs the same sex you will need them done if and when they start to s
I want one of those. From what I can make out it seems like boys are more neurotic and girls are more stubborn. I don’t think it makes a huge difference with chihuahuas, apparently they can be nervous and possessive and need as much if not more training than a big dog. I think you should go for whatever colour you like the most.
